Role

The nurse is responsible for encouraging student success and advocating for health promotion, education, and disease prevention.

The nurse provides support, care, training, and advises on health-related topics and issues.

They ensure the well-being of anyone on the teaching staff. Furthermore, they are available to answer any of your questions concerning your physical, psychological, and social health.

Nursing services we provide:

  • Health tips
  • STI testing
  • Contraceptive counselling
  • Vaccination (Hepatitis A-B and Gardasil)
  • Abortion services
  • Condom distribution
  • Morning-after pill (Plan B)
  • Listening and support
  • Other general health questions and information

Throughout the year, we organize informative activities and various events to highlight specific occasions and awareness days (Valentine's Day, World AIDS Day, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, National Addictions Awareness Week, Nutrition Month, and others).

We will also assist with and support student-led activities with brochures, educational material, meetings, etc.

We hold a medical clinic with a doctor once a month. You can make an appointment on Wednesdays with the nurse or call  418 748-6435 extension 4214.
