NATURAL ENVIRONMENT TECHNOLOGY
OBJECTIVES AND PROGRAM SPECIFICS *
The Natural Environment Technology is a unique program in the province and is tailored to a northern Quebec context (Eeyou Istchee – Baie-James and Nunavik territories). Students who complete the three-year program will have acquired the knowledge and skill to manage wildlife habitats and measure the impacts of those managements and of development and resource exploitation.
CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES AND UNIVERSITY-LEVEL OPTIONS
Wildlife management technicians tend to work for organizations and private companies. Examples of potential employers include wildlife agencies, controlled harvesting zones (ZEC), outfitters, wildlife associations, watershed management groups, Nibiischii Corporation and SÉPAQ, mines (environmental assessment) … Students also have the option of pursuing a university education in a variety of programs. Furthermore, gateways are possible with some universities.
SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Secondary IV Science and Technology of the Environment (STE) or Science of the Environment (SE).
